The Pontiac GTO, introduced in 1964, is an enduring icon of American muscle. By 1969, Pontiac had sharpened its performance edge with the launch of The Judge a bold, factory-built street machine designed to take on the Plymouth Roadrunner. This documented, numbers-matching example is finished in Carousel Red, a color exclusive to The Judge package, and features original black interior, Rally II wheels, and all the signature graphics and decals that made the Judge instantly recognizable.
Under the hood is the legendary 400 cubic inch Ram Air III V8, factory-rated at 366 horsepower. Paired with a Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission, it delivers raw, responsive power with every shift. With just over 62,000 original miles and a body-on restoration using single-stage lacquer paint, this Judge retains its authentic character and unmistakable street presence. Power steering and power brakes make it as rewarding to drive as it is to admire.
This 1969 GTO remained in such good original shape that the previous owner decided a full frame off restoration was not necessary, and instead opted for a frame on restoration. The car retains its original sheet metal from its floor pans to its quarter panels and even the trunk, all of which should be stamped appropriately from 1969. The original protect-o-plate remains with the car as well. As this item was used for warranty purposes, the second owner of the vehicle received a new protect-o-plate during purchase as the car remained under warranty at the time. According to our discussions with previous owners, the car reportedly had its original engine rebuilt with new pistons and rings back in 2020.
Adding to the vehicle's provenance, this GTO was previously owned by marque expert Bill Brunker of Burnker's Vintage Garage. Bill spent several years working for NASCAR drivers Dale Earnhardt, Steve Park, and Dale Earnhardt Jr building Cup engines.
